Sri Venkateswara Swamy is currently the main god of Tirumala Venkatachala hill in Andhra Pradesh. According to Mythological texts of Venkatachala Mahatyam, Bramhanda Puranam & Sri Bagavatam, Varaha Swamy have taken residence in Tirumala Hills. He is the lord of Venkatachala hills. Sri Maha vishnu did not took avatar as Srinivasa. He is the true self left from Vaikuntam in search of Lakshmi Devi. After his marriage with Pricess Padmavati devi & Sri Nanchari Devi, they came to Tirumala.

Lord Srinivasa met Varaha Swamy, the current Master of Tirumala region with his mother and asked him to grant some place for their stay during Kaliyuga. Since both of them are from same manifestation, Srinivasa promised Lord Varaha to be worshiped first & offer naivedyam, ring his bell first thing every day in Tirumala.

Tirumala Sri Bhu-Varaha Swamy Temple Darshan Process:

Visiting tirumala is a sacred ritual in every house of southern India. There is a specific process for visiting tirumala with family for complete blessings of Sri Venkateswara swamy.

First the devotees must pray to their House Diety first to travel tirumala and start their journey by climbing steps from Alipiri. Once they reached Tirumala top, they must offer their Hair to lord and should take bath in Pushkarini.

Any Devotee must and should go to Sri Bhu varaha Swamy temple first for darshan before entering Queue complex. The entry is free of cost and it take 30 to 50 minutes total for Sri Varaha Swamy aarti & Darshan.

Varaha Swamy temple is constructed and embossed in Gold same as ananda nilayam. The temple is located north of Srivari pushkarini facing east. The entrance to the temple is from North Mada Street.

Devotees should wear traditional dress while entering sri varaha swamy temple. Temple opens 3 times a day in three sessions Morning, Afternoon & Evening.

Morning Opening time : 07:30 AM to 11:30 AM

Afternoon Timings : 12:30 PM to 04:30 PM

Evening Time : 06:30 PM to 09:00 PM

Sri Bhu Varaha Swamy Temple Legends & important history:

According to Venkatachala Mahatyam, Lord Srinivasa was asked to prove his might to marry Padmavati Devi by Akasa Raja. Desperately Lord Balaji sought Kubera’s help to arrange for expenses of his marriage. Kubera gave the sum as a Loan with specific terms keeping Lord Varaha Swamy as the Scribe & Witness.

Lord Balaji promised Kubera to pay the interest on the lended sum till the end of Kaliyuga every year from the offerings of his devotees. The complete deal is enternalised in a specific text as a Yantra and installed beside Bhu Varaha Swamy. Devotees can also see the Promissory Note of Lord Srinivasa in Varaha swamy temple.

Vakula devi, the mother of Srinivasa worshipped Varaha Swamy primarily and got the blessing to look after Srinivasa as a son. She is the incarnation of Yasoda from Dwapara Yuga. Yasoda devi was not able to see even one marriage of Sri Krishna, So to fulfill her desire, Srinivasa was married to padmavati with her hands.
